Since 1997 Energy Share has sponsored an annual art contest for all fourth grade students in Montana. The purpose is to raise awareness among and educate elementary school children about Energy Share and why it exists. It is also Energy Share’s hope that through its art contest more families will become aware of the need for and existence of heating assistance among the low-income in our state. This could be a picture of people or a person who is in need of Energy Share help or who has just received help from Energy Share. 2. Each picture should have the artist’s name, grade, school and teacher’s name on the front in a lower corner. If this information is not on the front of the picture, it will be disqualified. 3. The Energy Share Local Committee will choose three pictures from all the 4th grade entries. These pictures will then be entered in the statewide contest. At the statewide level first prize is $75, second prize is $50 and third prize is $25. The first place picture will be shrunk down to postcard size and used as thank-you cards beginning July 1 for people who have made donations to Energy Share of Montana. 4. Pictures are to be drawn on 8-1/2 x 11” paper. (This size ensures that no part of the picture is cut off when it is reduced to postcard size.) 5. All entries are due on or before November 30, 2011. For information on where to mail your entries call Energy Share at 406-442-4900 or 1-888-779-7589. 6. All entries will be the property of Energy Share of Montana. 7. The first place drawing will be displayed on a billboard in, or as close as possible to, the winner’s community.
